Important Announcement

Monday, March 8th, 2010

As many of you will be fully aware of we have been very, very busy making a massive new side to the game which includes all number of new exciting aspects.

We’d like to say that we are now almost finished and have decided rather than release all these new features in one big go, to stagger them across a few weeks so you’ll have more time to familiarize yourselves with each aspect before the next one is released.

It is also important that you all gain access to features which help you defend yourselves for sometime before we enable kill and attack. This is due to the fact if we released all of the new features at once and you couldn’t make it online for whatever reason, despite being one of the highest rank players in the game you would have little in the way of defense. Which means you could potentially become an easy target.

By staggering the new features into the game it also gives us a chance to see how each implementation favours in its early days, thus allowing modification without considerable disruption as time progresses.

Roughly each and every day over the next 2-3 weeks you can expect to see a new feature come into street crimes world, each time it does we will make an announcement to tell you a little bit more about the feature and whats new!

Today we will be unveiling our brand new Credit Item Store, it will go live sometime this afternoon so stay tuned!

Kill and Attack Update

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

This is just a small update to let you know how were getting on with attack and kill. We are now in the middle of coding the final aspects of the attack and how each one of you will be returning to the game in the case you are sent 6 feet under! After your character is killed those of you who played previous versions of Street Crime will be familiar with the hell page. However for those of you who are un-familiar with this aspect of the game, when your character is killed by another gangster, you are required to create a new character with a new name and return straight back into the game so that you can start collecting and piecing together information about your death, in the hope that youfind the culprit and then can take revenge on him/her.

We have been busy developing an all new inheritance system, which will perk you up when you die, its also better than before in that dieing is not the be all and end all of the game. If your well prepared dieing doesn’t have to be that much of a bummer! We have some screen shots of this that will be making there way to this thread tommorow.

We also created a perfect testing environment to test all of the new stuff we have been working on and trust us when we say theres alot of it!!!

All in all things are going well with the development and by the end of this week we hope to have a date set for launch.

Stay tuned folks!

Attack Progress Update

Monday, February 22nd, 2010

We are now moving into the final stages of development and testing of the attack and kill functionality, so we thought we would show you some screenshots and pictures of whats to come.

The above screenshots are but a handful of whats to come!
As you will know we are working hard to finish this and it we are now on the home stretch but we won’t announce release of all of the new features until we are 100% happy that everything works as it should and we have worked all bugs out of the system as best as we can.

Heres some more stuff coming into the game when we release the features.

Heavy Weaponry

The RPG is one of 3 all new heavy weaponry guns never before seen in any street crime version, these heavy weapons fire unique rocket ammunition and carry a significant punch when trying to damage a fellow gangsters turf.

Some New Credit Items

Double Exp, allows you to equip your character for 24 hours with double experience from everything in the game, allowing for ultra fast ranking. Would be especially handy if you wanted to rank quickly back up to get your own back on a guy that killed you.
Energiser Plus is a new credit item which can be equipped to your character for 7 days and allows you to regenerate energy at double the normal rate.
Chaffeur allows your character to ship cars to and from cities which you are currently not in and last for 7 days.

Stay tuned gangsters!

Attack & Kill Progress Report

Monday, February 15th, 2010

We want you as our players to be as informed as possible of our progress with developing the new features, so we decided this morning to give you all a little update.

Kill and Attack have taken us slightly longer than we first anticipated, mainly because we have been very conscious of trying to make it the very best we can, which to us means also being innovative and new to this genre of game, so when they do get released you will have seen nothing like it! Because of that, unfortunately its taken a little longer than we hoped to develop the system, although we are now making very very good progress and hope to be ready to go live soon.

Please don’t forget we have your best interests at heart and are trying to develop the best game that we can so to make it more interesting for you all.

More information of an exact date will come soon.

Thanks

Attack – Announcement: Launch Early Feb

Friday, January 22nd, 2010

Ladies and Gentleman,

Tonight we would like to take the opportunity to announce our plans for the Attack system (Kill).

We have now been planning, developing and programming the attack scripts for 3 weeks or so and are edging closer to a release date. We are setting a preliminary date of the first week of February for release of all of these brand new features. However this could move backward or forwards slightly depending on our progress over the next week or so.

What we wanted to do is re-assure you we are working real damn hard on the attack system to try and make it unlike any other gangster attack/kill system you have ever seen.

So what we thought we would do tonight is give you all more of an insight into what we have been up to all this time. All of the following features and upgrades will be coming into the game when Attack is launched and we have also explained a little more about each feature and what it does.

Attack – This is the main feature of the release. Attack is now not a solo feature, your friends and crew members can now pile into a vehicle and go with you! You can choose from a range of different attack intentions i.e. Disrupt, Loot or Attack. Looting will steal cash made from rent that is un-collected from a players turf (please see below for more details on this). Disrupt will damage buildings and thus damage the amount of rent your turf makes you per hour. Attack will do exactly what it says on the tin! You go with the intention to attack the player personally. Depending on his defences of heavies (see below) and Pad upgrades your attack may take several attempts to be completely successful!! Or his defences may just be too strong and you might need to call in the help of all your crew members!

Maintenance Scrapped – After alot of debate we have decided to replace the daily maintenance with a slightly different feature. Rent collecting. Rent collecting means any cash your turf makes will not be added to your characters cash untill you collect it. Also any un-collected rent cash is Lootable by another attack team. Cash can be collected every hour. If you do not collect rent at all in any 48 hour period then your buildings will earn you nothing!

Life Insurance – Remember the time when if you died and you never had the opportunity to get any of your beloved belongings back. Well that time is over! With the new life insurance policies you can get varying degrees of cover so that even if you may die your legacy lives on! You will receive some of your previous characters items and wealth and inherit some of its stats with your new character!

New Vehicles – A few new vehicles will be wheeling there way into the streets of Street Crime with this update for kill as well! So get practising your GTA skills!

Weapons Shop Upgrade – The weapons shop has undergone a massive overhaul, with over 30 new weapons including RPG’s and Sniper Rifles and tonnes of weapon add ons to unlock it’ll sure keep you busy. Guns also have a exp which unlocks and improves the power of the gun when used by yourself depending on your experience with it. New Sidearm and Equipment slots have been added to your inventory so you can equip a sidearm and a grenade if you choose and take them with you on an attack. Extra weapon slots can be unlocked by acheiving certain things within the game and or via credits.

Brand New Shooting Range – Some of you will remember our old shooting range. We took it away from all you lovely people when we had a few problems with it. We have now developed a brand new one which you can take your extensive weaponry from the new weapon shop too and fire away!

Heavies – Your own personal turf defence unit has arrived! To help repel and defend your turf from attacks Heavies are available to train and equip. Heavies can also be sent by crew members to your turf to back you up even when you are not online!

Spies – Want to attack someone? But want to gather as much information as you can before you commit to the attack? Thats where spies come in! Spies can fetch detailed reports from your enemies turfs to inform you of defences. You can get spies working for you and collecting information on enemy turfs simultaneously!

Achievements – A Slight redesign of our achievements section plus a whole new batch of fresh achievements to make.

Attack Alert System – A brand new attack alert system is available including text and email message notification of when you are being attacked. Also brand new to the attack system this time round is the ability for your crew to find out if you are being attacked so they can re-enforce you.

Loads of New Credit Items – We decided our shop was far too bland and scarce so we filled it right to the brim of items to suit pretty much anyone’s needs. We also gave it a bit of a facelift.

Text Messages – Text messages will be able to be sent through street crimes inbox system to your friends anywhere in the world and best of all so long as your friend has enabled his mobile phone on street crime its as easy as clicking ‘send message as text’ from the normal inbox!

Stay tuned!!
