Empire-building guide
Turf, property and criminal businesses
Turf turns short-term earnings into a visible base of operations. Learn why development, income, vehicles and defence must be planned together.
What turf is for
Your turf is more than a profile decoration. It is a place to develop buildings, support longer-term income and connect systems such as garages, businesses and defence. Development creates options, but it also makes your position more visible to rivals who understand what those assets are worth.
Build with a purpose
Do not develop every available option simply because it exists. Decide whether the next investment supports income, vehicle storage, a crew plan or another goal. Keeping working cash outside the build budget lets you continue travelling, trading and reacting while the turf develops.
- Choose the role you want the turf to play in your current strategy.
- Keep enough cash available for normal activity after paying for development.
- Check how vehicles and other assets are positioned before beginning conflict.
- Review the income and exposure created by each new business.
- Coordinate with your crew when a turf decision affects shared competition.
Income brings exposure
Revenue-producing buildings can strengthen a character over time, but rivals can attack property and try to disrupt income. A profitable asset is therefore both an advantage and a responsibility. Build only what you are willing to monitor and defend.
Turf and conflict
Car bombs and other coordinated attacks can target the businesses behind a rival empire. Conflict requires preparation, suitable vehicles and allies; it should not be started only because a button is available. Understand the target, likely response and cost of failure before putting a developed turf into a wider rivalry.
