Crime FAQ
Crimes, success chances and jail
Choose crime difficulty deliberately, understand what failure means and make jail part of your plan instead of the end of a session.
Which crime should I choose?
Use the displayed chance and the result you can afford, not just the largest possible reward. Easier crimes are useful while learning. As your character develops, compare the available choices again rather than assuming the hardest crime is always best.
Why did my crime fail?
Criminal activities use a success chance, so a valid attempt can still fail. Failure can mean no reward, a wait before trying again or jail. It does not mean the page is broken, and repeatedly choosing a poor chance can slow your progress.
What can I do in jail?
You can wait for the sentence to finish or use the options the jail page currently offers. Other players may also attempt a bust. Sentences and available actions are shown in game, which is the source to trust when balance changes.
Can I bust another player out?
When the jail system offers it, you can try to free another jailed player. It is a risk-based action rather than a guaranteed rescue. Check the live chance and any timer before attempting it.
